Since 1941, the DCA has
been awarding scholarships
to graduates of Darien High School based
on financial need, scholastic standing and the potential of the applicant.
Our Scholarship Committee reads the applications submitted
by the
students along with their parents' tax return and
interviews all
students during May and June of each year.
Special scholarship grants this year
included:
Scholarship
funds are raised by DCA groups,
The DCA Thrift Shop, and your donations.
The
need for scholarship assistance is great.
Our community is not immune
to the financial
hardships caused by job loss, divorce, parental
abandonment
and disabilities. The DCA is proud
of the role
it takes in assisting with higher education
for students in
need.
