Scholarship Program
In 1941, the Darien Community Association initiated its Scholarship Program and has since awarded millions of dollars to hundreds of students. These need-based scholarships are funded through a variety of ways, and administered by a committee composed of DCA employees, Board Members, and volunteers.
Scholarships are awarded to DHS seniors for use during their first year of college, and unlike many other scholarships, can be renewed for the students’ subsequent years to ensure continuing aid throughout their entire college career.
Congratulations to the 2025 Recipients
Apply for a Scholarship
Applications will are accepted every March for scholarships awarded for the school year beginning in the fall of the same year.
Current DHS seniors must apply through the common scholarship application available on the Darien High School scholarship page. The deadline to do so is typically by the end of March. DHS Administrators will then forward the applications to the DCA for consideration.
Current college students who were awarded a scholarship during their senior year at DHS through the DCA Scholarship Program must fill out this application for continuing aid in the spring.
Give to the Scholarship Program
Thank you for supporting the DCA Scholarship Program. There are three giving levels:
- Contribute any amount to the DCA Scholarship Fund. Your gift will be pooled together with other individual gifts as well as proceeds from DCA programs and fundraising events, and all funds will be distributed to deserving DHS students.
- Contribute $2,500 or more to create your own Named Scholarship. These scholarships are a wonderful way to honor or memorialize someone, and can be awarded to students who exhibit the same qualities or have the same interests as the person who is named.
- Contribute $25,000 or more to create your own Forever Scholarship as a long-term philanthropic commitment to education. Your contribution will be forever invested in our endowment fund, where the principal amount will remain untouched and the interest earned will be used to provide yearly scholarships.
