Game night is having a glow-up! Mahjong has taken the social scene by storm—could Canasta be next? We think so!

The DCA is pleased to partner with The Card Room to offer a three-part introduction to American Canasta, designed for beginners who want to learn the game in a fun, relaxed, and social setting.

Over the course of three sessions, participants will learn the fundamentals of Canasta, including how to set up the game, card values, melds and canastas, picking the pack, strategy, scoring, and how to confidently play a full game. Each class will build on the last, with plenty of guided play and hands-on practice along the way.

By the end of the series, you’ll have the skills and confidence to sit down at a Canasta table and play on your own. No prior experience is necessary—just come ready to learn, play, and have fun!

The Card Room is a Westport-based company creating modern Canasta cards and accessories, while also teaching classes and bringing the game to a new generation of players.

Friday Morning Class Dates: 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 from 10am-12:00pm

*Please note: There is a minimum of 6 participants required for the class to run. Attendance is important for this class as the game relies on having four players per table. Double check your calendar and make sure you can attend all 3 classes in this session.
